This is a picture of me, back when my husband and I were Civil War re-enactors. Just outside Gilbert WV, at the Hatfield family Cemetery. I started writing before this time period and would use my evening fireside time to work on my books. I made the dress in the picture.

About

I was born in California and moved to Northern Idaho when I was fourteen. I went to Highschool in Sandpoint a small town in the northern panhandle. After high school my mother moved to West Virginia, with the company she was working for and I moved with her (I actually worked for the same company for a time during my senior year). I have been living in WV ever since. My husband moved to WV with the same company. We never met while living in Sandpoint ID, living in the same small town and working for the same company we never met. We ran in very different crowds. When we moved to WV we became friends but at the time we were both in other relationships. In 2003 we found we were both single and came together and have been inseparable ever since.

I started writing just after my husband and I got married, he was working nights and that left me a lot of free time in the evenings. Even though I had a laptop and access to a word processor, I find I write best when I handwrite in a notebook. I then transfer my notebooks to a word document. From there I start editing and flushing out the story. What I hand write is quick, sometimes I can’t read my own notes. I then switch between writing in my word document and continuing to hand write in my notebooks. When I feel I have finished my story I print it off and do a final edit, before I send my manuscript off to my editor.

My first sprig of inspiration came to me one afternoon when I got home from work and found my husband was watching an episode of ancient aliens, on the History Channel. This particular episode was on UFO sightings in history. They talked about Christopher Columbus have an account in his journal of a UFO. That posed the question, what are they looking for? Then I started to think of all the sightings that people are still having and wondered, why haven’t they found it yet? These questions inspired my first book. This started me on the path to writing.

The idea for Throne of Fire came to me after I read Sarah Cannon’s Peachville Demon Series. If you have not read the series its about a race of demons who have been enslaved by witches. When I’m really into a book (s) that world becomes my mental playground.

From this exercise in mental theater I found my dragons, I dreamed up Paige and Zane. The world of demons morphed into my world of dragons and the new world became my new playground and Eitholan was born.
